The college is finishing up the term on a busy note. The christmas examinations are about to begin on Thursday the 1st of December and will run through to the 8th of December. We wish all students the very best and we know you will do very well.

Office Procedures & Administration course, awarded by ICM has just started and we wish well all those students who are taking part in it.

E.B.C held its graduation ceremony this week and 62 students were sucessful on receiving award certificates. Sucessful students had studied in Hospitality Management, English Language, Management Studies, ACCA Accounting Technician and I.T Practitioners. International Student of the Year Awards were presented to Muhammad Zubair and Evelyn Ndhlovu.

Rio de Janeiro Trip

I have just returned from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, where I attended a three day education fair on behalf of E.B.C College Limerick. I met with many students who have a very high regard for education and training. I found the experience to be very beneficial for E.B.C College. I was encouraged and delighted to realise that Ireland is very popular with Brazilians.

Brazilian people are fun loving, warm, friendly and extremely welcoming and I believe have a very similar culture to Ireland.

I enjoyed my experience in Rio and of course I visited the Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Corcovado (Cross of Christ) which are both spectacular. I have travelled to both Malaysia and Brazil over the past few months and have been received very warmly and enthusiastically in both continents.

It is uplifting to see Ireland being regarded so highly in both continents; it makes me so very proud to be Irish.

We would like to welcome Evelyn Ndhlovu and Qaisar Mehmood Butt as the new Student Welfare Officers for the college. They will assist new students who arrive in the country as well as existing students who may have any issues or require guidance.

The management students are completing the First Line Management Programme and will be shortly moving to the next level of training. We wish them well in completing their assignments, reports, projects and presentations.

E.B.C College (Limerick) is now offering a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and is planning to enroll students in 2011. This PDG will serve as an excellent route for students who wish to continue onto Masters and Doctorate level programmes. Students holding relevant qualifications from other institutions or professional examining bodies may apply for exemptions on a subject to subject basis. For entry to the PGD, students must hold a relevant honours degree qualification. The PGD is awarded by the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) and comprises of 6 modules. Course Work Experience & Work Place Visitation

E.B.C (Limerick) has been sucessful in gaining valuable work experience for our students in the Hospitality Management Programme. Students have found this to be a very positive experience which is making the course more enjoyable and complete for them. Students on this programme have also been given the opportunity to visit hotels to see operations within the hotel. More work place visits are planned for through out the academic year. Their lecturer Meave found these experiences very worth while.

We have come to the end of the academic year of 2009/2010 for our international students. We would like to wish them all a great summer. It was a productive year with a strong focus on examinations with alot of students successful on passing and some results are still pending. Well done to Qasim as the 2010 E.B.C Table Tennis Winner. Special mention to the I.T class who started the E.B.C Post, a monthly college magazine. There was 5 magazines issued throughout the year. My name is Natalia Kaluha and my country of origin is Belarus. I graduated from the Belarusian State University. Then I came to Ireland 8 years ago. Hi, My name is Evelyn. I am originally from South Africa. I came to Ireland in February 2007. It was the best moment of my life. I felt really provilaged to be in Ireland and being a student at EBC Limerick. I'm studying Information Technology. It is a challenging course but very interesting at the same time. If you have interest about computers it is the course to study. I'm a very fun loving person, very down to earth. My hobbies are playing basketball, tennis and volleyball. When I am not in college I spend some quality time with my friends. I also love travelling alot and I write sometimes.

I am Tao Wen and Aaron is my English name. I come from Shanghai, China. Its located in the south east of China. I am the only child in my family. I have a wide range of hobbies such as sports, films, computers, reading books etc. My favourite sport is soccer. I am a supporter of Man United. A trip to Kilarney is planned for Wednesday the 12th of May '10. This trip will include a visit to Muckross House, Ross Castle, a boat ride on the lakes of Kilarney and to finish off with some shopping time around the town of Kilarney. Students who wish to go on this trip need to pass their name to Sylvia.

The college I.T class are designing and creating a new monthly newsletter named the EBC Post which will be made available to all students on the beginning of each month. The Chrismas edition will be completed on Tuesday the 8th of December. If any student would like to contribute an article please pass it on to the I.T class or to their Lecturer. The newsletter will contain features on sport, the latest gadgets, current news from around Limerick City, culture, a personal feature and many more. All students are encouraged to take part.
